La Luce di Amesole - Canzone
This painting represents the last of the 4 songs sung within Immortalized. It's a digital/traditional hybrid of La Luce Amesole - Canzone. The traditional version was finished off in oil, and the underpainting was constructed using grounds and pumice gels. In the book, it states, "Next he somehow found a way to sculpt rock onto the canvas. The artistic magic flowing through him demanded that it be done this way. Now rock was built into the painting in a way, which would enforce the barrier between his eventual whooshy wiggling wild waves and her sensitive sandy gold. The boundary that separated their two worlds."
When creating the hybrid version it was imperative for the sculpted rock and sand to be apparent. It was also essential for other elements of the traditional painting to be included. Therefore, the rocky formations, sand, violin, glowing figure, and parts of the sky were taken entirely from the original oil painting.
Most importantly was that this piece along with all the others encapsulates the most important aspect of the character Amelie, her inner beauty. Right before Remick drops his paintbrush, he adds the final touch, "There was only one thing left to do, the final touch. Forever the sun needed to shine. He never wanted her bright light to burn out. There was a type of mineral oil which when added to the paint would never allow it to oxidize, so around and around the sun he went until the light was made complete. If the rocks cracked and the beach was washed away, the sun would still shine brightly."
True to the book this was done in the traditional painting of La Luce di Amesole - Canzone. In the hybrid, the light is supposed to be felt more than seen, because the sun is hiding behind the mountain. The greatest mystery in this painting won't be revealed in words, but its secret was given away in Immortalized.
Let me write in the shadow of your light as I hideaway
Uh, Uuuh, bring forth the day
And the ocean spray
Please come my way, never fade away
Words to sketches, yeah, scorching perfection
She shines ever so brightly, dawning the narration
Sky petaled smiles, sketches to poems
Let me write in the shadow of your light as I hideaway
Uh, Uuuh, bring forth the day
And the ocean spray
Please come my way, never fade away
(All of the stringed instruments stopped with the exception of a piano)
Ah, aah, ah, ah, aaaah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
What’s that you say Isabey
Stretched cotton canvas, poems to paintings
Uh, high above me, dawning the narration
Uh, Uuuh, she’s so lovely, in her illumination
Shades and tints entwine, starshine creations
It’s everything you are, a work of art
Sunlit harmonies of the heart
Brightness abound, how it neatly sweetly enshrouds
Rosebush foundation, incandescent illumination
Starshine creations, always dawning the narration
(All the instruments began to play in unison with emphasis on the cello)
Let me write in the shadow of your light as I hideaway
How I love the day
And the ocean spray
Please come my way, never fade away
Shine your light to banish the night, Merci beaucoup
Words to sketches, sketches turned to poems
Oh li ah, Oh li ah ah, Oh li ah ah ah ha
Stretched cotton canvas
Poems to paintings, now the paintings sing
Childhood recollections, dreamlike reflections
Oceanic transcendence, beyond heavenly ascendence
How I love the day
And the ocean spray
Please come my way, never fade away
But even if the ocean dries
And the coastline cries
As long as the sun shines
A personality so divine
Forevermore immortalized
(All the instruments stop, now the violin starts, a very whimsical tune, played with vigor)
(Now they operatically started singing in a tearful way so their emotions could be felt perfectly within the repetitious tune)
oooo-oo-oooo, na nuu, the day will always turn to night
ooooo-oo-oooo, na nuu, I’ll never be your white knight
For I’m am bound to midnight
oodooroo, da doo, oodooroo, daa doo, oodooroo-daa doo (over the top, could be heard the word day)
oodooroo, da doo, oodooroo, daa doo, oodooroo-daa doo (over the top, could be heard the word day)
oodooroo, da doo, oodooroo, daa doo, oodooroo-daa doo (over the top, could be heard the word day)
,uuh uh, uuh ay, I will always always love the day
